Painting Tips
PREPARING THE SURFACE
General
Plan on 1 to 3 days for preparatory work including repairs with "Celufilla" crack filler and cleansing of surface. Allow one day for the repaired surface to dry.
Preparing unpainted masonry surfaces
Bare masonry: (Stucco, gypsum, concrete block, cement).
New masonry is very alkaline, and is best not painted for a year, for oxidation of the surfaces to occur. Apply one coat of tempra stabilising solution. Apply one subsequent coat of Tempra paint thinned down 50: 50 with potable water.
Recoating previously coated surfaces
After sanding surfaces use Tempra Stabilising Solution as a primer before subsequent coating. If you suspect the old glossy surface to be an alkyd paint, sand down well, wash and wipe surface clean, apply Tempra Stabilising Solution.
Apply two or more coats of Tempra Emulsion Paint, Tempra Plastic Emulsion Paint. Tempra Acrylic Paint, Tempra Textured Sand Paint.
